This model includes a detachable antenna for portability, but is compatible with long range or vehicle antennas from Cobra. It is equipped with a DC vehicle power cord, but can also operate on 9 AA batteries or a Cobra rechargeable battery pack.

Good looking Radio
Good looking radio, easy to operate, reasonably good sound considering small speaker. If you want better range an external antenna is the way to go. Buyradardetectors has the lowest price around, fast shipping.
Just what I expected
I got the handheld for the portability - from vehicle to camp. It does appear to be sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about packing it in/out. I off-road, hunt and travel the roads so it will be used extensively. The factory antennae limits the range so I marked short range. For the vehicle I got a high-end permanent mount top-loaded antennae and the combo works very well. Overall very pleased and would definitely recommend - especially from buyradardetectors because their price is awesome.

This is a TERRIFIC RADIO! Great performance through heavy foliage and multiple brick walls, a great device to have for specialized communications in a variety of conditions!
