The DE-1776 will detect the new POP mode radar. This model also povides a "Dual Alert Display" feature. With this feature enabled, bright blue LED's on each side of the display will flash when an alert is detected, in addition to the text display message. The DE-1776 is also compatible with Whistler's new Intelli-Cord power cord.
The Whistler DE-1776 responds to all types of radar currently in use by police, and provides 360 degree detection of all types of laser guns laser. The Whistler DE-1776 is immune to the VG-2 detector, and provides alerts when VG-2 is in use. The alpha-numeric display allows for full support of SWS alerts, including detailed information messages.

| The Whistler 1776 is compatible with Whistler's optional Intelli-Cord Power Cable. The Intelli-Cord provides a programmable button on the base of the power cord to which you can assign your choice of two features. You can have the IntelliCord button control any two of the following: Power On/Off, City Modes, Dim/Dark, and Quiet/Auto Quiet. A short button press activates the first feature, a long press activates the second!
