Used as a hard-wire alternative to the factory original coiled cord. This cord is more easily hidden and just the right length for the outlet I wired behind the glovebox.

Power Cord FAIL, received expresnive tic
I purchased a straight cord for my Escort 9500 because their coil cord is a little short and puts strain on the unit when attached to the windshield. This straight cord by XLT Communications did not supply correct power to my Escort unit. Escort checks power every 10 or 20 minutes and I found that this straight cord did not supply power when I was driving from Fla. to PA and was pulled over in Petersburg, VA. $257.00 ticket. Do NOT buy this item if you are using an Escort radar detector.
