The Escort Passport 8500 X50 radar detector is one of the best high performance models on the market today. For years, Escort has been leading the industry in performance and quality and the 8500 X50 is no exception. In addition to providing great range and response time to police radar, the 8500 offers amazing Instant-On radar detection. The Escort 8500 X50 is a tested, reliable design with proven performance.
For maximum performance, its new "V-Tuned" radar receiver provides an extreme range of detection on all conventional and "instant-on" radar police radar, including POP mode and X-Band. The 8500 X50 Black now has up to 50% greater range than the original Passport 8500 on K and Ka bands. The PASSPORT 8500 X50 also includes Escort's Traffic Sensor Rejection (TSR) software to filter out false alerts.
Along with it's superior performance, this model features Escort's ExpertMeter™ multiple threat display which can detect and alert you to a possible 8 different radar threats at once. The Passport 8500 X50 also features an AutoSensitivity™ mode, which automatically adjusts sensitivity levels to your driving conditions and virtually eliminates false alarms. This model will also detect POP mode radar as well.
This Escort 8500 X50 features a brilliant blue display and is also available with a high intensity red display.
The Escort 8500 X50 is designed to integrate with the Cincinnati Microwave ZR4 Laser Defense System.

Feel naked without it!
Instant on radar got me first day. Cop said he was giving me a ticket only because of my radar detector. My intent (having the detector) made him decide not to let me off the ticket. He felt very enabled.
Best Buy for the Buck
Very easy to use! Mount it up, plug it in, set audio to desired, set to Auto Mode, and you are protected!! Once you get used to the sounds of the different alerts you do not even have to look! The smart cord canceling is a bonus... just click to mute, signal strength is still visual! The minor problem I had was my wife kept complaining that she did not have an X50 so I purchased hers, it is quiet now except for real alerts!!!
