The Whistler XTR-420 radar detector is a full featured radar detector that is also battery powered. This means you have all of the great Whistler features in a cordless model. The XTR-420 has POP mode detection and an easy to read Icon display.
The Whistler XTR-420 has the built-in battery charger found on other cordless models. The XTR-420 also features Whistler's popular dual low profile alert periscope.
The Whistler XTR-420 also features 3 city modes and 2 filter modes which allows you to block out many false alerts. An Alert Priority feature makes sure the most important alert is displayed if multiple alerts are detected. Other features include Patented VG-2 Cloaking™ Technology, Dim/Dark settings, Auto Quiet, Auto Shut Off, and a Digital Compass.

Versitile and low cost detector.
This detector has good average performance so far. My biggest selling point for this model is that it is rechargeable. So, I use it in my car plugged into the 12volt outlet and it charges as it is operating. Afterwards,I attach it to the front fairing of my Harley and use it in cordless mode and it stays powered on for a long time. It is heavier than other models but not a problem. It fell off my bike when I first got it and it didn't break! Call me a satisfied customer.

Very bulky and annoying drawn out start up sounds, not a good buy like it is hyped up to be.
