The Uniden R1 is an extreme long range radar and laser detector with advanced filtering and RDD undetectability. It detects X, K, and KA radar with an advanced K and Ka band filters to help eliminate false detection. It is also equipped with Eagle Eye for 360° monitoring for all types of laser. Individual bands can be turned on or off to ignore specific frequencies. It also has K and Ka POP mode to detect brief transmissions too fast for some detectors to catch.
The R1 has two city modes and highway mode to adjust sensitivity levels. It has an OLED display with a choice of 6 customizable background colors, and adjustable dim levels. The R1 can display band, frequency, signal strength, vehicle battery voltage and up to 4 threats at one time.
The R1 also features voice alerts with an option to mute at the press of a button. Other features include alarm priority, battery voltage warning, traffic sensor filter (TSF), self test and factory reset. The firmware is upgradeable.

No. The R1 does not have GPS. If you need or want GPS capability, consider stepping up to the Uniden R3 or Uniden R7 radar detector.

Yes. Beltronics, Escort and Uniden power cords are compatible, however, Beltronics and Escort smart cords are not.
Yes, the R1, R3 and R7 are firmware upgradeable. Updates are released by the manufacturer on a periodic basis. These updates may include feature enhancements, new functionality, bug fixes and other tweaks to enhance the performance of your radar detector and keep it current.
