Much tighter in my lighter socket, which I kind of like. Switch works well. Led is red rather than amber which I would have preferred. Fuse access ring is black plastic rather than chrome but who care? All in all a pretty good replacement for the stock adapter

I bought the charger because the one in the box from niden has too long a tip that it won't fit in the lighter outlet. this one is no different.. The older design of the charger, original R1 and R3 was a regular size with normal fit inside the power outlet of the car.. Those new designs won't fit and easily disconnect leading to detector being off randomly, forcing me to check on it and make sure it is on.. Another distraction while driving..

Fit just fine. Only had to stretch out cord some to reach center console and to not pull detector off dashboard. Great after that!
