The Photo Blur is the most inconspicuous anti-photo license plate cover available. It is a hard acrylic bubble cover that contains a thin diffusion lens. When viewed sraight-on your license plate is completely readable, but at an angle - such as where a speed camera or red light camera would be positioned - your plate numbers will appear blurred.
Had to destroy on side of road to avoid ticket
Was supposed to be hard to see the "Blur"! No I could tell as soon as I pulled out of the package. Would be a $150.00 fine here. Paid $19.00 for the blur + 25 dollars for shipping + $20.00 for Customs! Total $64.00 to throw in the trash!!
The customer service representative "Tavon" was great. Knowledgeable, respectful, thorough. Makes me a lot more willing to purchase a product when the representative is trustworthy. I've used "OnTrack" products in the past and they work exactly as described. My advice to "OnTrack": Some states have all digits and characters on the license plate shifted to one side or the other, thus making it difficult for certain style plate covers such as the photo blur to block the view from certain angles. Please design a photo blur plate cover to counteract the plates that have side-shifted digits and characters.
purchased two and got great results. recommended to friends and they ordered them also. recently purchased 5 more. thank you for a great product.
ordered 2, then 4 for neighbors, then 5 recently. I highly recommend it
thank you. works better than i expected
Saved me from lax law enforcement who lazily install technology that they think will do their jobs for them.
I put this on my rear plate and it really works. No more tix or hassles
Save your money. This wont work.
I bought 2 of these and both blurs came unglued....which is the purpose of buying these plates. This is unacceptable.
Excellent product to help protect from red light cameras. I have used this for about four years and to make it work better than right out of the package I have learned to alter the function by adding small additional strips of the diffusion material taped to the original diffusion strip to improve the function even more
I must admit I was skeptical about this product before buying it and putting it to the test. The product is well made with durable tough plastic and 4 screw holes for secure attachment. I have had State Police parked directly behind me at stop lights and never a problem. I have gone through radar traps and the plate cover also provides protection in delaying license place reads, has never instigated police pursuit. The cameras that track and report your license plate all over town can't see me now and I am loving a return my personal liberties and personal right to privacy.
I've used this plate cover for 9 years on the same vehicle, have tested it with surveilllance cameras, and have never received a photo-trap citation, even when I knew I deserved one and I knew I was being photographed. I've even been stopped (for bad taillights or expired tags) in states where this plate cover is illegal and watched the cop stand there inspecting my tags – and he never even mentioned it. So, yes, it's worth the money. The only problem I've found is that, after carefully installing the plate cover, a few days later I noticed small stress fractures radiating from the mounting holes. So, apparently, the plastic doesn't like modest pressure and vibration. I returned the plate cover for an exchange, but the replacement did the exact same thing – small stress fractures after a few days. However, as I said, I've had the same plate cover for 9 years and the fractures haven't grown any larger than a half-inch. Still, I think the manufacturer needs to include a few soft rubber washers or bushings for mounting.
This thing works; I've made it through numerous red lights with this nifty little cover without a ticket. I even used it last month on a trip to run through EZPass lanes and haven't gotten a citation. It isn't overly noticeable - and looks fine from behind. Get one for each car, you won't be dissapointed.
Last year I received ten tickets from red light cameras. After installation of your product (plus a small amount of moisturizing lotion) there have been NO tickets. I would buy again and I have recommended to friends.
I've owned this product and been using it for about a month now. I have it installed over my rear license plate. I haven't gone through any red lights at an intersection with cameras yet, so I can't comment on it's effectivness. However, when doing a 360 degree walk-a-roud of my vechile from different distances, it seems work as advertised. As for unwanted attnetion, I've had police driving directly behind me as well as behind me in an adjacent lane, and haven't had any problems. Just recently, I was pulled over by an officer for something completely unrelated, and the officer never even mentioned or commented on my use of this product.
Never received a photo-based ticket while using this plate cover; though, I don't know whether I ever should have gotten one. While it might be straightforward to build your own, my guess is that you'll have more time, effort, and maybe even money into it by the time you're done. Where are you going to get the sheet magnifier for example? Finally, be sure to replace the cover occasionaly as it will begin to yellow over time.
I think another poster on here summed it up - it's just a clear plate cover with a sheet magnifier TAPED to it. Depending how you mount it, it's VERY obvious and the tape always shows. I could make the same thing a LOT cheaper. We'll see if it helps or if I get pulled over by a cop that notices it and gives me a citation for plate obstruction.
In the world of red light and speed trap cameras, PhotoBlur is like the ounce of prevention is MUCH better than a pound of cure. It is a GREAT investment. MUCH cheaper than tickets and court costs. Everyone will benefit from using PhotoBlur. gary s Florida
This is just a cheap clear plastic plate cover with magnifying plastic strip stuck on with double sided tape. Ugly and very obvious to anyone following you. Cops will notice this from 100+ feet away.
Did not work!!! I got a $200.00 photo radar ticket with this blur cover on my license plate. It showed the license number very clearly with no distortion!!
I've also send one blur to a friend in Mexico and he told me that no tickets had came to his mail box.
well worth the money and it really protects your tail if you know what i mean!!!!
Photo Blur. I didn't buy this for myself, but actually, for my 91 year old mother-in-law. She doesn't even know it's on her car. "Mom" has slowed down in recent years and has a little trouble remembering things recently. But when she's behind the wheel of her 94 Buick Regal.....look out. No slowing her down. Our problem was EZPass. Not mine, Mom's, or lack thereof. She was getting several tickets a month by flying though the EZPass lanes. And I was the one paying the fines. Mom stated, "Why are all those people always waiting in line. The far left lanes are never backed up." My explanation of the EZPass system fell on deaf ears, literary. A friend recommended trying Photo Blur. I did. Installing the lens over Mom's license plate has now paid for itself 50 times over as I have not had to pay an EZPass violation since. It works!
