It has an LED power-on indicator, an alert lamp that warns you of radar and laser threats, and a convenient mute button right on the lighter plug! It's a key accessory to have when reaching the detector's mute button on the windshield is a stretch and is the perfect addition for any vehicle. For discreet night driving, put your Escort detector in the dark mode, and use the DirectWire SmartCord® for visual alerts. Other drivers won't know you have a detector!

Remote power with a smart connection
For me I want the radar detector out of my vision and others. I'm not a flagrant speeder, but if I should get stopped for something, it's best to be outta the way. The remote hookup eliminates wires across the dash and frees up outputs for charging devices. It's a good deal.
