The Beltronics Vector 940 radar detector offers great Bel performance at a value price. The Bel 940 detects the new "POP" mode radar, and features an alpha numeric display and voice alerts. This model also offers Bel's new Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to minimize false alarms. The Bel Vector 955 also provides 2 levels of city mode, allowing you to adjust your tolerance for these false alerts.
The Bel Vector 940 is designed to integrate with the Cincinnati Microwave ZR4 Laser Defense System.

Horrible.
It only worked for about 3 days!
A great radar detector
I currently work as a medical courier and use this radar detector everyday. For being the low end of the Beltronics lineup, it is absolutely fantastic. I bought this to replace a Beltronics Express 795. The older model 795 might be barely more sensitive, just enough to notice, but the new model adds more features, a upgraded better display, and is just a newer better unit. The range on this is unbelievable. It does false a little bit, but it is at the low end of the line and with the auto sound reduction the occasional false signal is not an issue. I highly recommended this radar detector you will be satisfied with it.

It's still pretty new and I haven't used it much, but so far it's detecting above as expected.
I got a ticket
I can't believe I paid so much for that thing. It is always set for highway. It does not go off until the cop is 50 yards away from me. There have been a dozen times when I have seen the cop before the detector went off. I STILL GOT A TICKET!
Pays for itself many times over..
Where I live.. Cops everywhere, feel safe, but they write alot of tickets. Not that I have a heavy foot, but it's nice to know. This is my 2nd 940. The range is phenominal. Picks up radar at around 1/2 to 1 mile. Plenty of time to check yourself. No false alarms. If it goes into K or Ka band alert theres a cop nearby. I have to say the 940 probably saved me four times over two years that I'm sure of. That would have easily been over $1,200 in tickets and safe driver incentives for the state. My ONLY knock is the 1st 940 I owned the Ka band went out after 2 1/2 years. Thought about having it fixed, but the shipping and repair would have been more than a new one. The K band works fine and there are alot dept. in my area that still use K band, but most use Ka band. No radar detector is perfect. Alot of police use an "instant on" feature by flipping on their radar at full power. No detector will save you from that. If you drive reasonable and pay attention the 940 will protect you 95% of the time. For under $150 dead presidents you can't ask for more than that.
