it never stays on the windshield always falling off had it for over 2 years now and the longest it's ever stayed on was 30 minutes one time.
Hopefully the replacement will work.
Utter waste of money. Surprised my unit still works its fallen so many times. Scotch tape would work better than this failure.
I have gone through several sets of the normal suction cup mounts, so I thought a mechanical suction cup mount would be more durable, have more adhesion, and allow easy switching between cars. It is easy to install and uninstall, so swapping between cars is a snap (pun intended). It has much greater adhesion than the normal clear plastic suction cup mount. Only downside is that fact that on my Jeep Wrangler (almost vertical windshield) the mount winds up in front of the dector when the unit is mounted. This arrangement occludes some of the sensor aperature on the front of the detector. Although I still seem to get decent utility from the detector, I would prefer the front of the unit not be blocked. It works much better on my Aspen, which has a much more raked winshield than the Jeep.
It really doesn't get any better than this! This should come standard with the detectors rather than the stupid little suction cups that don't hold very well. This is just like the suction cup that holds the garmin GPS units! Definitely worth the money spent!!!
This is a good idea, but the overhung load is too high for the suction cup. It appears to stick to the window well when first attached, but the suction is not high enough to hold it over time. I added a very light film of Vasiline to improve the sealing surface, but that did not work either.
This product should come from the factory with all detectors. It is the ONLY windshield mount that has ever worked for me. I work in the oilfield and drive half my time offroad. I have not had to reposition, adjust, or reinstall on the windshield sinse installing it the first time! The factory cups wouldn't last through one day.
