Ku Band Is NOT Coming To The USA
Almost two years ago, a rumor started floating around that a radar gun manufacturer may be producing a radar gun that operates using the Ku radar band. There are already speed measurement devices that use the Ku band, but they are rare and are used predominately in a few European countries. Cobra and Whistler reacted to this rumor by adding Ku band detection to their 2006 detectors.
In a new article, Craig Peterson of RadarTest.com puts this rumor to rest and does some digging into how it got started. Click here to read the article.

I have a Bel Professional Series RX65 Radar Detector; I drive in Europe, one hour to work and one hour back. The RX65 is very sensitive, but there’s one type of radar that it can’t see, I don’t know what is called, but its two large boxes, ones a camera with a flash and the other box is the detecting unit. I passed one just the other day and I was disappointed in my Bel Professional Series RX65 Radar Detector, that’s the reason I got, because it was supposes to work in Europe and it doesn’t. can anyone tell me what kind of radar this is? ….. thanks
