The Escort Passport 8500 X50 radar detector is one of the best high performance models on the market today. In addition to providing great range and response time to police radar, the 8500 offers amazing Instant-On radar detection. The Escort 8500 X50 is a tested, reliable design with proven performance.
For maximum performance, its new "V-Tuned" radar receiver provides an extreme range of detection on all conventional and "instant-on" radar police radar, including POP mode and X-Band. The 8500 X50 Black now has up to 50% greater range than the original Passport 8500 on K and Ka bands. The PASSPORT 8500 X50 also includes Escort's Traffic Sensor Rejection (TSR) software to filter out false alerts.
Along with it's superior performance, this model features Escort's ExpertMeter™ multiple threat display which can detect and alert you to a possible 8 different radar threats at once. The Passport 8500 X50 also features an AutoSensitivity™ mode, which automatically adjusts sensitivity levels to your driving conditions and virtually eliminates false alarms. This model will also detect POP mode radar as well.

In the standard bar graph mode, the Escort 8500 X50 will show one band that was detected and a bar graph representing the signal strength.

In ExpertMeter™ mode, the 8500 X50 can identify band and relative signal strength of up to radar 8 signals at once.

In SpecDisplay™ mode, the detector will show the band and actual frequency being detected.

The SmartCord MuteDisplay™ accessory is a unique power cord with a power-on indicator, an alert lamp that warns you of radar and laser, and a convenient mute button right on the lighter plug! It's the perfect addition for any car when reaching the detector's mute button on the windshield is a stretch.
